Explore and Discover 3 Section Root View Planter

Three-section planter for observing plant growth and conducting comparative studies.

Overview

Facilitates plant growth observation and discovery-based learning with a three-section design, ideal for gardening projects.

A useful resource for teaching about the growth of plants. Its sections facilitate comparative studies, making it suitable for experiential learning. The clear screen makes observing the roots easy.

The resource can be used to help children explore the life requirements of plants, such as air, light, water, and nutrients and how a lack of these can affect plant health and growth. This supports hands-on learning about these varying factors as prescribed in the curriculum. It features 3 sections for 3 different plants, or a comparison of 3 of the same plant with different variables for enhanced experiments.
The planter can also be used to demonstrate how seeds and bulbs grow into mature plants. The planter can also be easily removed from the stand for hands-on activities and includes ruler markings for observation of size. A magnifying glass, tweezers and a dropper are also included.

Supports the National Curriculum

Science, Year 2, Plants

Observe and describe how seeds and bulbs grow into mature plants.

Science, Year 3, Plants

Explore the requirements of plants for life and growth (air, light, water, nutrients from soil, and room to grow) and how they vary from plant to plant.

Science, Year 3, Plants

Identify and describe the functions of different parts of flowering plants: roots, stem/trunk, leaves and flowers.
