Helping to Support Teaching and Learning

Pattern Recognition and Mathematical Thinking: These cubes support early mathematical concept development by encouraging children to create, identity and extend patterns. Children arrange sequences of colour and light, recognising repetition, and predicting what comes next.
Logical Reasoning and Early Computational Thinking: Through sequencing and reordering cubes children further their logical thinking skills. They are exploring order, cause and effect, and step-by-step processes, key components of computational thinking. Children are exploring through experimentation and testing outcomes.
Fine Motor Skills and Hand-Eye Coordination: Handling, stacking and aligning the cubes can strengthen fine motor control and coordination. Children can refine their grip, control placement and adjust positioning as they build sequences and structures. These repeated actions supports later skills for writing and tool use.
Collaborative Play: The open-ended design encourages children to work together to build, test and refine ideas. Through shared exploration children can negotiate roles, explain their reasoning and support other suggestions.
Mathematical Language Development: As children explore patterns and sequences they begin to use and understand key mathematical vocabulary. The hands-on nature of these blocks supports children in verbalising their thinking.

TTS Glow Sequencing Cubes

Illuminated sequencing cubes designed to transform early maths. Developing pattern recognition and logical thinking through hands-on, sensory-rich exploration.

Overview

The Glow Sequencing Cubes combine light, colour and pattern to make early mathematical thinking visible and engaging. Children can build repeating patterns, explore sequences and create logical arrangements while the internal glow enhances visual focus and sensory appeal. Perfect for early years settings seeking to strengthen foundational maths through purposeful play.

These cubes have been carefully designed to support one of the most critical foundations of early mathematical development like pattern and sequence recognition. Research consistently shows that children’s ability to recognise, predict and extend patterns is a strong indicator of later mathematical confidence.
These illuminated cubes bring that learning to life. Each cube glows softly, children can arrange them into lines, towers or repeating sequences, the light makes patterns more visible and easier to track. Children can send light signals across their arrangements to further develop their understanding of cause and effect. It supports visual discrimination, working memory and sustained attention, key cognitive skills in the early years. Children may begin to ask, what colour comes next? Can I make it repeat? What happens if I change the colour? These questions forms the basis of logical reasoning.

The tactile, stack-able design allows children to physically manipulate sequences, embedding learning through movement and sensory feedback. The glow adds an additional layer of engagement, drawing children back to refine and extend their patterns.
Beyond mathematics they support early coding concepts of sequence and order, problem solving and reasoning, fine motor control and hand-eye coordination, collaborative thinking and language development.
Whether used independently, in small groups or as part of a light table set-up, the Glow Sequencing Cubes elevate pattern play into a powerful learning experience. Each set comes with a set of visual guides to help explore different ways of exploring these cubes. This is more than construction. It is the beginning of computational thinking.
