Loti-Bot Fairytale Mat

Ideal for early programmers, the Loti-Bot Fairytale Mat uses engaging fairytales to introduce coding.

Overview

Incorporates a variety of global fairytale characters, enriching storytelling and folklore delivery in classrooms.

This product intertwines the charm of fairytales with the fundamentals of programming. Each grid on the mat is associated with fairytale characters from different stories, serving as a visual and interactive aid for children using the Loti-Bot.

Targeting the UK Computing curriculum for Key Stage 1 and 2, it boosts children’s ability to create, write, and debug programs aimed at specific tasks. This not only covers programming but also bridges to geographical education by helping children understand basic map-directional language linked to routes.
Bringing folklore into the technical realm of coding encourages cognitive skills such as problem-solving and logical thinking, while also enhancing narrative skills and broadening children’s vocabulary.

Supports the National Curriculum

Computing, Key Stage 1

Create and debug simple programs.

Computing, Key Stage 2

Design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems and solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts.

Geography, Key Stage 1, Geographical Skills & Fieldwork

Use simple compass directions and locational and directional language, to describe the location of features and routes on a map.
