Helping to Support Teaching and Learning
-
Activity Booklet
-
To foster creative geometric constructions, the activity booklet provides specific guidance on exploring the multi-pack.
-
Easy Storage
-
The included Gratnells tray provides easy storage of all 460 pieces. This feature ensures that the classroom remains organised, and every piece is readily accessible for future geometric activities.
-
3D Exploration
-
To enhance their understanding of geometric figures and spatial awareness, children can explore shapes on a 3D level.
-
Hands-On Learning
-
It encourages children to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills through engaging with geometric shapes.
-
Year 2 Geometry
-
Helps children identify and describe the properties of 3-D shapes by aligning with Year 2 geometry objectives.
Polydron Frameworks Multi-Pack
Explore shapes, build structures and create 3D shapes.
Overview
-
This multi-pack includes 460 geometric shapes for hands-on modelling. It nurtures creativity and supports learning about 3D shapes.
-
Enhance your geometry lessons with the Polydron frameworks multi-pack. This set provides 460 pieces, including 160 equilateral triangles, 80 right angle triangles, 80 squares, 40 isosceles triangles, 40 pentagons, 20 root 2 triangles, and 20 hexagons, allowing children to explore geometric shapes and constructions hands-on.
-
Supporting the UK curriculum, it helps children identify and describe the properties of 3-D shapes (edges, vertices, faces) aligning with Year 2 objectives, and aids in drawing 2-D shapes and making 3-D shapes for Year 3 goals.
-
For Year 5, it assists in identifying 3-D shapes from 2-D representations. With guided activities in the Exploring Frameworks booklet and organised storage in the Gratnells tray, this resource makes abstract geometry concepts tangible and accessible.
Supports the National Curriculum
Mathematics, Year 2, Geometry – Properties of Shapes
Identify and describe the properties of 3-D shapes, including the number of edges, vertices and faces.
Mathematics, Year 3, Geometry – Properties of Shapes
Draw 2-D shapes and make 3-D shapes using modelling materials and recognise 3-D shapes in different orientations and describe them.
Mathematics, Year 5, Geometry – Properties of Shapes
Identify 3-D shapes, including cubes and other cuboids, from 2-D representations.
